Here is a little tought i've been thinking about lately that i want to develop. I watch stuff mostly in VO (tv show like friends, desperate, heroes, ...) and i've noticed that english lines always seem funnier than french lines. When Barney (how i met your mother) says "be careful folks, coz i'm about to drop some knowledge", how would you turn that into a stylish french sentence, "Attention tout le monde, jsuis sur le point d'vous épater", right, that sucks !
So the question is, is french language boring, so everything in english sounds better? no way, that doesn't sound realistic, and what would "stylish" or "boring" mean for a language anyway? It seems to me that, when i'm listenning to english, the difficulty to understand makes everything sounds better, it's like if in addition to saying something funny, the character also accomplished to build a well done sentence, which in some way impress me. This looks stupid as a judgement i know, but this is just how my brain works.
And i think because of that, now, the only way i can say something good, stylish or funny (at least to me) is by saying it in english. Unfortunately, "France" and "saying something in english" are 2 opposite concepts that don't mix really well. That must be probably why i fell this urge of leaving in another english speaking country for a while.
